A view to Wappenbury

There was always the threat of a good soaking, but one never came to pass. At lunchtime, I parked up in the lay-by at Weston-under-Wetherley church, and took the path running north-east of Waverley Wood.

It felt remote and windtorn here. Leaves didn't just drop from twigs. They parachuted and were carried higher than the trees themselves. So cold and gusty it played the devil with your kidneys. I took an emergency wee.

This is a view east to the neighbouring village of Wappenbury. Campbells Farm to the left.
