Fingers crossed
With no hot water, it was another sponge bath again this morning. Work was very productive and I left at 1pm.
I bombed over to C's to spend a couple of hours with her, S (now on paternity leave) and Teddy, who delighted me by cruising around the furniture, giving me some cuddles and kisses and generally having fun. S brought me up to date on how their renovations are coming along. It's all very exciting.
P arrived for half an hour or so. The clever girl has a Uni offer from Manchester and interviews lined up with both Cambridge and Leeds. Fingers crossed for her...
C is doing very well at the waiting game for baby number 2 and is well and keeping busy, baking, visiting the new house, wrapping pressies and seeing friends. Here she is crossing her fingers for an early delivery now (she was due yesterday).
I then did the hour's drive to the head shrink, which was fine. He brought me up (in a nice way) about my eating and made me think hard about getting back on track with getting it under control. I'm glad he did. I do need to take myself in hand, in a positive way.
The wretched plumber has been ignoring my text pleas to come back to sort out the heating and water and I know my lodger is getting fed up of cold showers, as am I. He finally got back to me about 10pm to say he is collecting the parts and will come back again tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it will be third time lucky....
While I got some logs in and made a fire to get the house a bit warmer this evening, L set up the dining room with lights and dust sheets etc. ready to start painting in there tomorrow. I need to find a new light fitting as the current one is crumbling, meaning another trip to B&Q and a bit of online browsing for me, though my bank balance is struggling to keep up at the moment....
I watched half of the film Pretty In Pink from the 80s that I recorded at the weekend. Those were the days...
