Toxteth Library

4 miles. At the end of Windsor Street and just before Parliament Street, in the shadow of the cathedral is Toxteth Library. No, it didn't figure in my earlier series on libraries, because it was not "threatened with closure". I chose my words carefully, because last week Mayor Joe Anderson announced that thanks to some wheeling and dealing/ offers of assistance/ new partnerships - details as yet unspecified- all 11 libraries that were threatened with closure will now stay open. An announcement of some significance. Let's hope that the libraries continue with renewed vigour to embed themselves in their communities in such a way that no-one would even think to threaten them with closure again.
