Interview
Today was another a super crazy day at work. I'm not sure if everyone has spring fever or if there is a full moon or what ... I am counting down the days until graduation and the quiet summer months.
R and I were excited to meet a volunteer from the Labrador rescue group tonight for a home visit. It turned out to be a pretty intense interview about our pet-owning philosophy and past history with animals. I can understand the questioning though, most of the rescued labs have been abandoned and/or mistreated so they need to find permanent and loving homes.
The volunteer has recommended that we adopt an adult since we both work 40 hours/week and don't have the time and experience to deal with puppy training.
So, the next step is to be matched with a dog. We're going to try to make it to another adoption event this weekend (if a birthday party that neither of us really want to go to - long story - doesn't interfere) as well as send in a few names of dogs we want to meet off the website to set up some one-on-one meetings. This feels alot like Internet dating!
In the meantime, we are doing our research on Labs... And Tigger is super excited about it all, as seen here with the informative book "Labrador Retrievers for Dummies."
No running today - it was too blustery and I'm a total wimp about the cold. Cross-trained with my 30 Day Shred DVD instead.
