Old things
Last weekend my dad gave me some very special things:
A pocket watch that belonged to my paternal great-grandmother, Pauline, who passed away in the influenzia epidemic of 1918. It still works and has it makes the best "tick tick tick tick" sound. It's amazing to hold something in my hand that belonged to a woman in my family over a hundred years ago.
A small china dish that belonged to my paternal grandmother, Dorothy. I loved my grandma with all my heart and I think of her so much. She was the best female role model in my life.
"The Book of Teas" purchased by my father when he was stationed in Japan in the late 60s.
Ran 3 miles today. Officially now in week one of half marathon training. Yikes!
