Story in the Snow
Not the most artistic shot in the world, but interesting nevertheless - it's a view from the kitchen window down on to the snow near the birdfeeder where there are always a few sunflower seeds to be found. Clearly there has been an altercation of sorts between a small mammal (a rabbit or squirrel) and a large bird (hawk or owl). There are impressions of 3 wing beats from the bird, and some frantic twists and turns by the animal (not all of which are in the shot). No blood or fur on the snow, so the predator may have been unlucky on this occasion.
There was a similar pattern of wings a couple of days ago and I almost blipped it, so in a way I was quite pleased to have another opportunity. I do hope we still have Nutsy though!
