Bridge eating riverside house!
I finally got out for a walk in the daylight today. The Picanto was in for a service and Kia lent me a car so I headed down to the river for a walk.
Everything was very brooding with no sun but also with no wind so there were plenty of reflections.
This is Sandö Bridge which when it was built used a revolutionary new technique of casting concrete. Unfortunately it was a little too adventurous and during the building of the bridge the structure collapsed and 18 workers were killed. It happened on the day WWII broke out so it didn't get much press.
The bridge finally opened in 1943 and for many years was the main road across the Ångerman River, until superseded by the High Coast Bridge in 1997.
