Gathering for Christmas
Since the snow of last week all melted we still had time to gather some moss, and lingonberry and blueberry twigs from the forest outside our door. These will be used to prepare some Christmas decorations, such as a wreath to put on the door.
In the bedroom we have a traditional Swedish form of double glazing. The basic window is single glazed and works very well in summer. As it starts to get cold we tape an extra window into position inside the permanent one. Some of the moss may be placed between those windows where it will absorb any damp and prevent condensation, frosting up and so on. Again, a traditional solution that works well here where the air is basically rather dry, at least compared to southern Sweden or Britain.
