Doin' the Funky Chicken...

It isn't every day that you see a majestic Great Blue Heron doing the Funky Chicken. But today, Maura and I witnessed this amazing spectacle...

Fellow Blipper, Maura, arrived early afternoon and after we sat and visited for awhile, we headed off to Ft. DeSoto. We had a great couple of hours there, watching wind surfers and birds before heading to Johns Pass to buy some fresh fish off the boat. As we were making out way to the fish place, we came across this heron and took about a gazillion pictures. Then it was off to select the fish for dinner ... and some local stone crab claws. A little Snowy Egret and a group of pelicans closely supervised the filletting of the grouper ... and were rewarded for their diligence with some scraps with disappeared quicker than you can say "pelican!"
