Just trying to survive

It's Here

The rental car.

It's here. It's here.

This is really happening.

We leave in twenty-ish hours.

At Petsmart while picking up kitty supplies for our trip, we may have found the perfect cat. The only thing is he's eight months old (still technically a kitten) and already bigger (and heavier) than Cosmo and Tuxie. His name is Alley (most likely for Alley Cat) and we met him in the meeting room and he was such a lover and so sweet and he's supposed to be good with other cats.

When I came home, Nova was very interested in this cat's smell and instead of glaring at me for smelling like another cat, he happily rubbed his forehead all over my shirt (not in a manner that would suggest he was scenting/reclaiming me, in a manner that suggests he was getting the other cat's smell on himself) and started purring.

Tuxie is the one that absolutely requires a kitten as far as we know.

If he's still there when we get back from vacation, we'll take the cats to meet him. If things go well, we'll fill out the paperwork and hopefully adopt him.

Unfortunately, the only two names I can think of that go with our theme (Cosmo and Nova, we didn't name Tuxie, but our theme is cosmic/astronomical/astrological.) for a dark cat are ones I'm saving for if we have any blue cats in the future. (Neptune and Pluto. Those sound like good blue names.)

Alley is a gorgeous short haired male black cat. And such a lover.

We both feel awful for hoping he'll still be there, but my significant other has a really good feeling about Alley that he didn't have about Tony and Morris.

Cross your fingers that he's here when we get back, as awful as that might sound. We want him.
