Simply Reeds

A very talented group of musicians Simply Reeds, came to play in St Mary's Church, Linton as part of the season's offering from the Linton Music Society.

LMS has been around for 50 years and the audiences are loyal but ageing and dwindling. Linton Youth Music, which I helped get off the ground last year, are focussing on putting on concerts that will attract children and families. The concerts are popular but so far have not covered costs (we have depended on funding and sponsorship for that).

I was doing the raffle tonight and it seemed to me that there are a whole lot in between that are missing out. The music was superb, fun, entertaining and on our doorstep, and I'm sure more people would enjoy it if only we could reach them.

We need to step up the marketing and I think we have just the person on board. :-)
