Peace Palace

This is the beautiful Peace Palace in The Hague which houses the international court of justice. Its a grand building with golden gates and landscaped gardens, which opened in 1913. You can only enter by appointment so we had to admire it from afar. We explored The Hague today, starting with pofertjes in a traditional pancake house. We walked in the park and I saw a huge heron! He was poised in perfect position for a photograph but unfortunately I had forgotten my camera. Then we had some perfect views of the whole of Holland at Madurodam, which is an outdoor attraction of lots of Holland's streets and buildings in miniature. The best bit is that it has cats, trains and boats driving around the miniature streets and canals to bring the place to life.
