Here beside the Ahuriri River , the paddocks are full of river stones and rocks(an old glacial flood plain) and rolling the rocks in makes the pasture more easily mowable.
A 15 tonne roller here at about 5 km /hour and sometimes a pair in tandem, weighing 30 tonnes…."persistence is the key" says Dr D .
