Echo
The Liverpool Echo used to be sold on most of the street corners in town. Now there are very few sellers left. Times have changed. The Echo's sister paper, the Daily Post, was recently closed down, and sales teams worked their way up and down our streets offering an introduction of a week's Echo to be delivered to the house for £1. Back in the early seventies, in the days of the Housing Finance Act and the rent strike, many of us saw the Echo as the enemy. But now, although I rarely read it, I would be sorry to see it go.
