a few years go i met a couple who lived in the top of a church tower. imagine how eccentric you would have to be to buy a church and then convert the tower into your home, and you'll have a good idea of their level of craziness. when i first visited their home, i left thinking i had just walked out of some crazy story.

recently he has started opening up the church to students during the day and so we popped in to see what was happening. i was a bit nervous taking the team in because i appreciate that not everyone has a high tolerance for crazy. in the end, we remembered that college was closed today and there wouldn't be any students around. instead we had a really amazing time. andrew was eccentric and wonderful and the team loved him! then he took us up to the top of the tower to look over shrewsbury and it turned into just a lovely time of fellowship and prayer. the team were all a bit 'open-mouthed' at the wonderful weirdness!

all this followed by a productive day in the office and a win against sakala at scrabble. perfect.
