Grant My Last Request and Just Let Me Hold you

When we lived in the "Village", we had a bumper year of Sunflowers and Sweetpeas.

The Sunflowers reached over the height of our 6ft fence and were attracting attention from the inhabitants. None of them were damaged I have to say, which was quite nice.

Below the sunflowers was a wall of sweetpeas. In every colour- pink, white, blue, black, purple, red, and the scent was beautiful. Late evening sitting in the garden, the air was awash with the scent of the sweetpeas mixed in with honey suckle.

We were delighted when they continued to bloom, over and over again.

In October, the Nursery had a Scone and Tea Afternoon in the Community centre. It was the last Sunday in October, and we were able to provide a little vase of sweetpeas for every table in the room.

I thought that sweetpeas in October was just amazing.

Not this year though - I'm still picking two bunches a week - small bunches, but still bunches. - I give one to my neighbour, and keep the other, and the scent is still strong.

I think this will be the last week though, it's getting ever colder... and I think the frost will finish them, but they have been amazing
