we spent our first full day at Staithes exploring the twisting, winding, steep and narrow alleys and 'loups'. Em ever watchful for Old Jack and his dog Salty (characters from a storytelling TV show based in the village). When we grew tired and cold we returned to the little cottage to sit beside the fire, read, do colouring and play snakes and ladders.
