day trip to Robin Hood's Bay. More twisty steep and narrow streets, filled with bygone character. Then back to Whitby, self-proclaimed gothic capital of the UK and inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. Sadly the Abbey ruins atop the hill were all closed up today, but we managed to get a look over the walls. The cobbled streets of the East side were charming and filled with the aroma of curing kippers. Back to the cottage and the discovery that a film unit for the Dad's Army movie have made camp at the top of the village - we didn't spot any of it's stars.
