Totally Tilly
Wow. I’m totally in love with Tilly, my adorable new niece :)) I’ve just got in from spending two hours with her and she is a gorgeous pretty thing, huge compared to her older brother at 98 on the percentile range for the size of her head compared to his 0.4! They are so different. He is fair, red headed (with not much hair at all) and dinky. She has loads of dark hair, red apple cheeks, and a large pouting mouth. Their similarity is in the ears and nose. She reminds me of the pictures I have of my sister when she was a babe and definitely has more of our genes, which is quite gratifying. So, I’m in love!
Work was fine and I even had a couple of decent conversations with miserable M who was even more miserable, though largely because his elderly mother is in hospital and he’s very close to her and so I provided tea and sympathy. My old assistant was back for the day and did her usual of distracting those around her and making a racket eating boiled sweets all morning.
As it’s end of month, I did loads of billing and then dashed off through the mizzle to Market Harborough as I wanted to get some girly baby clothes from the lovely independent children’s shop. It was expensive but it’s not every day that I get a new niece. In fact, I haven’t had one for 15 years and back then I couldn’t afford the snazzy clothes! I also bought my sis a nice photo frame and must print a nice piccie of Tilly to give to her.
I had a nice relaxing lunch then thought about what I wanted to say to the head shrink. I had a good session and then as I’d been invited to meet Tilly I drove through pea soup over to theirs and had a lovely long cuddle with this little gem, before helping M prepare spaghetti carbonara for dinner.
C loved the clothes and bunny and the little pink heart I got her. Tilly then dutifully slept through dinner, giving Mum and Dad a little break. Poor Teddy was in bed a bit poorly. Apparently he hasn’t really registered Tilly yet, but when he did notice her he reached out a scratched her forehead….
Poor C had lost a lot of blood during the birth, 1.3 litres they reckon and she was looking very pale and tired but that’s hardly surprising. Her hubby was also looking very strained. Luckily M and J (grandparents) have been on hand to help out and will be there till Saturday too.
Oh and at long last the boiler is fully back working and superstar L has nearly finished my beautiful new bedroom. The wallpaper is up and looks simply stunning. Today was a good day….
