bucks life

Take me back to the Black Hills...

A long but productive day at work. Got all my billing done with a day to go. That should please our FD. I popped out at lunch just to get out really. I dashed home after work for a very quick change and an about turn straight into MK to meet the wife of a very old school friend. I've seen him precisely three times since 1987 when we left school and I've met her only once for about five minutes five years ago.

She friended me on Facebook the other day then said she was coming to MK to do some training for her work and would I like to meet up to have dinner and see Calamity Jane at the MK theatre. As her hubby is one of my favourite ever people in this world and a close friend when we were six formers, I jumped at the chance to get to know a little bit the lucky lady to whom he has been married for nearly 25 years. I was always going to like her and we had a really good chat over a pizza. Here we are (me being a little shy) at the interval this evening. CJ was great fun with an impressive cast who could all sing, dance, act and play many and various instruments meaning there was no need for an orchestra. The American accents weren't bad and given the subject matter it was always going to be a bit hammy with lots of fun ho downs. It's one of my fave films and so I'm glad we went along.

When I got back I've found the heating on and my bedroom all but finished. The peony wallpaper and bright cerise paint are perfect and the two new white reading wall lights look great. It looks like a very posh hotel I reckon. I'm going to move back in at the weekend. Yippee! Another superb day.
