Night snorkel
We headed over to Lime Kiln Bay at dusk for a night snorkel on the reef to try and spot some behaviours and species you don't see during the day. We took a Surface Marker Buoy for safety and the photo turned out quite nicely with Kathy holding it up in the middle of the bay.
We did a couple of land surveys today - bird walks and shorebird surveys. Hard work getting the calls right. More rain however which inhibited the visibility in the water. And I forgot the old adage of "turn your torch on before you get in" which meant I couldn't really see what I was doing. Luckily Kathy had a backup. We checked out the buoy for our permanent transect and at least that was still in place.
