Craigmillar Castle

Today I went to the hospital with a friend as she has a nasty cough/cold and needed to have an x-ray done. The x-ray service was done relatively quickly which was surprising as there were about 10 people waiting for one to be done when we arrived.

However, on the walk back to the bus to get back to campus we stumbled across this amazing castle - Craigmillar. It's old ruins now but was so beautiful in the light that day that we had to stop to take photos even if it meant missing our bus.

On a board we found it told us that Mary Queen of Scots used to go on holiday there when she wanted to escape the buzz of the city. A nice bit of history only 20min from campus!
