OK. I'll admit it. This was a scary moment!

This morning's news of the death of Phil Hughes has left me in a state of shock for much of the day. Both my lads have felt the same way. This kind of thing just isn't supposed to happen on the cricket field. More than anyone else, my thoughts are with the bowler. It is the most appalling tragedy - for his family, his friends, and the whole cricketing world who loved him and admired the way he played the game.

I am lost for words really. Just to say that it proved to be a very long day but for once it wasn't all drudgery.
