Jill and Obbie
Dear Diary,
Had to go to the hardware store for oil for the generator. After running for 18 hours it needed a deep drink. This is what greets me whenever I visit...Jill, a Mastiff and Obbie, a black Lab. Puck, another black lab was following customer around and missed the photo op!
They hang out on the leather couch by the cash register most days and are dear sweet pups. I just had to include them in my photojournal since they always bring such joy to my shopping.
This is one of the reasons I live in western Maine and put up with the occasional power outages. It is such a friendly, laid back sort of place. I remember the first weekend in my house 19 years ago I woke up to find a box of blueberries on the front step. No note, just the blueberries. It is that kind of place.
Like Thanksgiving Day, when the whole town was without power, our little market opened anyway and helped people find what they needed by taking them around with a flash light. They also cooked people's turkeys in their big gas stove which was still working. Can't see that happening in a big chain store!
