Missing one half

On the way home from the supermarket late this afternoon I noticed that the moon in the sky was missing one half. Automatically I had to think of it that I also had someone missing at home.

At the supermarket I could not avoid seeing all the slogans everywhere that said 'Christmas is better together'. I wonder whether the person who wrote that even stopped to think that there are people who do not have someone to share their Christmas with (any longer).
