Not afternoon tea
This elegant tier of plates does not contain tiny cucumber sandwiches, but rather six starters for two - the menu of choice for the terminally indecisive. And very delicious they were too (especially the goats cheese with fig jam and a sliver of toasted filo - heaven in a mouthful).
Later there was part of a small bird for me (partridge?) and a fish that was probably John Dory for Mr B (French menus are still a voyage of discovery for us) followed by too much cheese and the chocolate pudding that had CarbBoy licking his plate last time we were here.
Earlier there had been builders building the tallest wall ever (so much higher than we imagined even though we chose the height). Given the wind and rain tonight, we can only hope they were right to build it in one go... Also some Christmas pudding making (part one), more curtains (yawn - I'm even boring myself with them now) and a fun trip around the market.
Meanwhile Mr B was with CarbBoy at basketball. They lost. He'll get over it. Well, CarbBoy will.
