Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

New Toy

Well, the folks down the street were having a "yard, garage, driveway" sale and we discovered it about mid-morning. I could tell Mr. Fun really wanted to go lookey-lou, so I encouraged him to go. I still needed to shower and get presentable, so I didn't go.

A few minutes later, my phone rang and after I said "Hello," Mr. Fun said, "Hey, come look out the front window." So I did. Mr. Fun had found a bicycle, a recumbent bicycle, at the neighborhood "yard, garage, driveway" sale. Best of all, he's been wanting a recumbent bicycle because they are so much easier to ride because they do not use a hard, skinny, narrow seat.

So he returned from the house a couple doors down to tell me the price they were asking and the price he planned to offer.

So, the short version of the story is that he now has a new "used" bicycle. Then he went for a long bicycle ride this afternoon and I stayed at the house to grade student papers because I need to return them to students this coming week.

When he got back home, we put the pups in the car and took them to the pier beach at the north end of our community. The pups love walking on the sand. The beach was heavily populated with families who have been here for the holiday week or weekend. The sky was a bit overcast and that was quite pleasing since it has been entirely too much like summer.

This evening we repeated the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. We cooked a "Butterball" turkey breast, and stovetop dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry. It was delicious and the aroma in the house just about drove the pups crazy.

Good night from California's Central Coast,
Rosie (&r. Fun), aka Carol
