Moon rise

14.00 hours on St. Andrews day and the moon is rising over the Cromdales, seen here from a sunny Mossie in Grantown.
It was a beautiful day and a long walk in the woods and along the river occupied the morning. There were Cresties and Crossbills and Woodpeckers calling the whole time, but I only saw Longtailed, Coal, Blue and Great Tits, Goldcrests, Wrens and Chaffinches. On the river, Golden Eye and Goosanders were bathing and sunning themselves.
On the Mossie this afternoon, there were flocks of longtails as I took this shot.
