A New One on the Block

Here is my late blip for yesterday that will link you to the other 'Stands Tall' arts project of Giant fibreglass Giraffe sculptures on the streets of Christchurch this summer.


I hadn't planed on going out today as I have been so much lately but after what I saw when we were going out for a meal last night, I had to. I never had my camera last night to get a shot of this amazing work done with road-cones and placed where 'Space Wild' No.37 was in Malvern Park, until something decided to kick him so much he had to be taken away for repairs. While I was out I went down Barbados Street and got a shot of 'Giraffa Spatiumnolovacuam' No. 22 by Artist Jen McBride.

While I taking my shots of the Cone Giraffe in Malvern park this guy in his 40's must have been looking at Cone Giraffe so he didn't notice the fence and fall flat on his face.. after a few choice words he got up and said he was Ok and went on his way again. Think he felt a fool.. I know I would have! You can see him walking away in the shot Bottom left.

The day was a mix of dark threatening clouds and then sun would come out again.. pleased the thunder storms missed the city but other part may not have been so lucky. It hasn't been very warm but it was dry!
