Feast time

These woodpigeons have just discovered the berries on our Mountain Ash tree which we planted two years ago. It replaced a magnificent Silver Birch which had become very sickly and had to be taken down.
The Mountain Ash flowered profusely last spring, hence it is now laden with fruit.
No doubt the pigeons will be dispersing the seeds round the neighbourhood in the usual fashion, so perhaps in due course we may expect more trees to sprout up.
