Mother of a Sunday
Happy Mother's Day Samantha. x x
This is how Heather and Euan's mum is spending Mother's Day this year. Deadline's looming for essay so nothing else for it but to bury her head in the books.
To be fair to the kids, they did make all the right moves earlier to make Samantha's morning as pleasant as possible. They woke at 8 ready to make breakfast. Heather came through to wish her mum a Happy Mother's Day and promptly fell back to sleep in our bed until 9:15, when she was rudely awakened by her mum shouting that her breakfast was made.
After breakfast, flowers and a card were presented (actually, Samantha's words were along the lines of "Am I to get that card or is it just going to lie on the arm of the chair all day?"
Heather then proceeded to ask "How do these vase things work?" when asked to place aforementioned flowers in one. No, I don't know either...
Still, they've promised to clean Samantha's car later on, there's a washing on the go and a promise of some ironing being tackled, so Samantha can concentrate on her essay writing in peace. And as the sun streams through the window and points its shiny fingers at the layers of dust covering the furniture I may even waft a duster in that direction (between F1, Scottish Cup Quarter Finals, Rugby and maybe even some of the FA Women's Cup semi-final of course).
Poor Euan's stuck on another machine typing up a project on Japan (last minute again, had it for two weeks, don't know where he gets that from at all...) and I'm going to have to tackle some paperwork and prep for work tomorrow at some point.
Day of rest my arse.
EDIT: Guess who eventually ended up washing the cars? Yep, muggins here caved in...
