Aunt Betty

Following on from my granny's tea plate yesterday, today's blip is her sister Aunt Betty's embroidered picture which was made by a second sister in Ireland Aunt Sadie.

This picture looks battered and worn and currently hangs above my study door. The stains are not dirt but rather water marks from when I retrieved it from a broken old frame in Betty's house when she died in 1980. It is a treasured possession.

The picture hung above Aunt Betty's fireplace forever. It makes me smile as the irony is she would in fact have fought with her shadow, and frequently did!!!!! :)
