Ten years

I think this tree was ten years old when it got cut down. (It's not always easy to be sure with tree rings). We didn't cut the trees down completely as we are using a coppicing technique so that in a few years time we will be harvesting the new growth. In the meantime these logs need to season before being used to heat our home. We also chipped up the smaller branches and they are being used as mulch around our trees and bedding plants.
