We sneaked up Norf this weekend with Robbie, Tracy & Struan for sledging and chilling and 1st birthday celebrations (Struan, obviously). It was bloody brilliant and bloody perfect, although Struan had a bit of tummy trouble and Arlo wasn't wholly convinced that sledging is the most fun any human can have on a bit of plastic.

Otherwise though, a great weekend staying at this excellent wee hotel in Kirkmichael.

It was great to get out in the fresh air and have some fun and get some good chin wagging over a beer or two at night. We were pretty rock 'n' roll with our partying though - I was in my bed and sound asleep by 10.30pm on the Saturday night - and that was after a game of pool, a game of darts aaaaand 4 games of pass the pigs.

I love getting away from Edinburgh with friends, it's great to just forget about housework and work work and all the other things that come with living in Edinburgh and just tell stories and eat decent grub and generally relax.

Thoughts are now turning to campampampampamping....another month or so and it will be ziiiip ziiiiip ziiiiip and the crackle of a roaring campfire and the bubble bubble bubble of the beans on the trangia and the pop pop pop of the red wine cork. Sigh.

This has been a long and dark and hard work winter I reckon. It was great to voluntarily go and spend some time in the snow and then drive back down the road, back into Spring.
