A commemorative gun
I had to go into Oswestry today and took a cut through the beautiful Cae Glas Park in the town. This 25 pounder gun sits near the main gates and was presented to the town by the Royal Artillery to commemorate the training camp at Park Hall where soldiers were trained for service in the two world wars and afterwards. My grandfather went there to train when he put his age on to join the Shropshire Yeomanry in WW I. Park Hall is now a farm museum but the road names around reflect it's history.
The wood mouse that was in my bird feeder yesterday had disappeared today. I would have let him out today had he still been inside, it will be interesting to see if he returns.
