Where East meets West

View from the Royal Observatory close to the Greenwich Meridian - the line of 0 degree longitude - Greenwich Park, the National Maritime Museum on the left and Queen's House in the centre, behind that the Royal Naval College (now University of Greenwich), River Thames and the towers of Canary Wharf. Extreme right you can just see the Millennium Dome, if you really want to.
And on the grass of the park, there's the shadow of the Observatory.
Lovely day between two dreich ones. Started with a run in the park, then spent the morning in Greenwich before taking the DLR into London where we visited the British Museum (a little bit of it) then the excellent War Horse at the New London Theatre.
Next morning - longitude exhibition in the maritime museum then back to London for the train home before going away again for the weekend. The plan had been to spend a day in Greenwich and a day and a half in London but it ended up Greenwich 2, London 1/2.
