A MIMent In Time

By justmim

We are not easy to please and this time of year seems to invite much grumbling; of long, dark nights and lights hung up too early. Throw in a touch of end of year fever and mumbles of "bah humbug" seem to sound louder than calls of "goodwill to all". I know I am quick to bemoan the seeming lack of daylight in my day.

Yet when I remember to 'stop and smell the roses', as it were, I usually find that there is far more to enjoy than endure.

Crisp golden mornings and cosy nights in. Seasonal scents and twinkling lights that, though here early, brighten skies and bring smiles. Time spent with friends not frequently seen and letters on doormats when miles are too many.

But most of all hope, a sense of anticipation amidst celebration. Carols & candles that point to something more, to SomeOne more. A lasting joy beyond passing seasons.

"He who is mighty has done a great thing,
Taken on flesh, conquered death's sting,
Shattered the darkness and lifted our shame,
Holy is His name."
