Deck The Hall
I went with a few friends, all ladies of a certain age to Hanbury Hall National Trust house today.
At the reception they pointed out that the main entrance was 150 yards away and asked us if we were going to be ok to walk there. I said in jest that I rather fancied a go in the golf buggy thing parked outside for the less able visitor. The next thing we knew the driver turned up and bundled us in to this contraption which was a cross between the Pope mobile and a Tuk Tuk, and proceeded to trundle along at leisurely pace of about three miles an hour. He was most offended when I referred to it as an invalid carriage.
Then as we snailed our way up to the door there were decorations on the theme of the Twelve Days of Christmas. We nearly had time to sing the whole thing.
Couldn't speak for laughing.
We had to have a cream tea to recover
This is the decorated banister inside with paintings by SirJames Thornhill.
