Moscato Bubbles. Leitz Elmar 135mm + 2 tubes.
Here are some Moscato d'Asti bubbles captured in gelatin. This took some doing from the first attempt last week. The problem before seemed to be the gelatin itself: it set up too quickly on contact with the wine. M ordered in new gelatin which comes in leaves and not a powder. It has a much longer "open" time and gives the bubbles time to form and then be captured as they rise. The Blip was made using my 135mm lens on the bellows attachment with two extension tubes and stopped down enough to give the few mm of DOF required.
Addendum: The recipe needs to be tailored to the specific properties of the gelatin used. M found that this batch did not set completely and some of our precious bubbles escaped! There will be more.
