1st frost of the year

Woke on Saturday morning to first severe frost of the year. So got excited and went out with camera before breakfast to capture the frost on the garden plants. I needn't have rushed it was a bitterly cold day and the frost stayed until mid morning when the sun broke through.

This is a back blip , it is now Sunday night and there is hail/sleet and thunder outside. It seems to have very suddenly got to be mid winter
