HURT

When you live by words, it's fair to say that over the years an arsenal of vocabulary is stored in case of self defense and protection. However, like the explosive discharge from a weapon the spoken word can never be retracted. If uttered with precision and conviction the outcome can in many ways be as metaphorically devastating as the bullet. That is why we would like to think that with age and maturity, comes circumspection and wisdom. Nevertheless we are all vulnerable to the occasional verbal sidewinder which of course tends to happen when we are tired, and when it's least expected. Here's a song .... HURT
