Day 12 of Roadtrip/Day 1 of Ringmeet

Waking up to rain. Yup this is the Eifel all right.

With driving a BMW 330d last night and an Audi A5 3.0 TDi this morning I have suddenly decided I need something big and torque filled. But that will have to wait. An early start meant we could go and get breakfast long before everyone else saw light.

The Friday of Ringmeet is always a long one. Spending most of the day waiting for people to arrive and peering into newly arrived engine bays takes up most of the time, but the odd downpour today added mud as well.

To avoid boredom we headed to the Ring; but nothing much was going on. The A6 did a first lap but it was so dull we went back to the campsite and oggled over the newly arrived A8L.

The food was also ready surprisingly soon - it was still light when dinner was served. A very tasty barbeque indeed.

The night was finished off with a pub quiz. Naturally stupidly hard questions that only weird Finns got, but we didn't come last. Plenty of beer brought action to the night, but a load more beers and long chats with Belgians and a Brazillian meant a 3am bedtime was well worth it.
