Trains no boats

An early start with some frost, no rain or snow and the road mostly clear of cars allowing a good drive to Birmingham, about an hour. The train to Glasgow was on time, warm with a power point and wifi, excellent. A big tick for Mr Branson

As the train headed north from Birmingham I could see the morning sunrise behind us, it looked fabulous across a big sky but the train window was too dirty and the results are not good. Ahh remove the tick.

The Oban train leaves from Queen Street station, and as stations go its not too bad, there is a feeling of quiet business when sitting drinking a hot chocolate, almost comfortable. (Unlike central station, a cold draughty place that I firmly believe is the cause this horrid cold of recent days).

Due to the cancellation of all Mull ferries I am staying in Oban tonight and the Calmac chap said its unlikely there will be a ferry tomorrow either. An alert text tells me they will review the situation at 10.00 in the morning. We can but hope.
