St. Giles
The reason that Barbican is there at all is because of the blitz. But in amongst the hundreds of thousands of tonnes of concrete that replaced the bombed ruins are some remnants of the original, pre-war London including St. Giles.
Much better large, especially for the eddy in the lower right.
I only stopped because I bumped into a group of ladies looking to get to the City of London School for Girls which happens to be right next door to St. Giles. Of course I sent them in the wrong direction. Whoops.
Today's alternative was the beautiful sunrise this morning.
A good day for photographs on the BBC today covering the environment, Audrey Hepburn and architecture.
Music for today: The Stranglers (the very definition of louche), John Frusciante, Sugar and Kylesa. Fairly driven.
