Newcastle life

Gone but never forgotten

My grandpa was a wonderful man. He had an endless amount of stories which he told me over the past 30 years. Today around 100 people arrived for his funeral and I met many of the characters from his stories. It reminded me of the movie Big Fish.
Although I am sad that he's gone, I am grateful for the time we had together.
So many happy memories of going walking in the woods then having a picnic every Sunday, going for ice-cream at the beach, from going to watercolour classes, to dancing at my wedding. He was the person who taught me how to fix my boiler, hang a painting and check the oil in my car, he was the person that I automatically called for advice. He is irreplaceable and so many people loved him.
This is a blip in his honour, from 1951, aged 17.
