Christmas cake - part 2

The fruit has been soaking in single malt whiskey (sorry Hobbs) for longer than it should, but alcohol is a preservative, and dried fruit doesn't go off in a hurry.

Today being really quite miserable - it's not cold but drizzly, and a bit too damp to go into the garden, it's Christmas Cake baking day.

I have to say the house smells heavenly. I'm using Mary Berry's recipe, and it seems to be working out quite well.
