Moonrise...and a Cautionary Tale

I have lost the quick release plate from my tripod.

No, I have misplaced it and I know it is safe...

However, how seriously annoyed was I to see this majestic moon rising above the village on the way back from Tuesday night taxi service.

No tripod and car full of kids, camera balanced on a jacket on the window, shutter release delay....best I could do.

I have sent off for a new plate - this won't happen again!

On the upside, the weather is SO awful now that any need for long exposures outdoors is very unlikely!
