so the promised 'explosive cyclogenesis' is sweeping in. Here it is thrashing the northern shore of Morecambe Bay with high winds and driving waves. To say the wind was brisk at this point would be understating it. I had to think carefully about how to open the car door without trapping limbs and extremities.
