Reunited

5years 49days

Well, Katie had an excellent day today. She has had rehearsals for her Nativity. She has watched the KS1 nativity dress rehearsal. She has enjoyed the last Christian Club of term. She has taken part in the school's commemorative "Football Remembers". The children were incredible. The whole school went outside, in total silence. The bigger children put their poppies into the field. The head read a poem. The football team played a "German/England football match" on either side of "No-Man's Land". The children continued to watch in patient, total silence. There was another poem. Y1 and Foundation put their poppies into No-Man's Land and went back inside. They did brilliantly for the hour that they were outside.

All of that made for an excellent school day. However, the best was after school. I packed her up and we headed to Scarborough. To find my best friend and godbabies, safely back for a visit from Australia. She didnt know where we were going so when we pulled up at Nannan's and Edie answered the door, the two of them were utterly delighted. They grinned at each other before hugging. Aunty Lauren swept her up for big cuddles before we went and met the beauty that is my soon-to-be godson Myles. Sooo scrummy. The three bigger kids ran off to play without hesitation. Like it had been no time since they last did it, not the 14months that it has been. I had a wonderful time with Lauren, Chris and the baby. We all had a nice tea. The children ran straight away to play again. The big three had a bath together - looking a bit bigger than last year!

A playtime with Grandad and Granny before heading home. A really fab evening.
