Classic car

This is an Austin Metropolitan convertible, in "Autumn Yellow and Frost White", first registered in March 1959.
This classic little convertible has been lovingly restored and maintained, and now belongs to my friends Mike and Pam in Grimsby. It is their second Metropolitan.
This one changed hands for £150 in 1979, and is currently valued at 10 to 12 grand and is much in demand in the USA, where the design was first conceived as a "Hudson".
This one was built in Birmingham, UK. It has a 1489cc 4 cylinder engine, and is a three gear manual with a top speed of approx 75mph.
Mike took Fiona for a short spin today through downtown Grimsby, with the roof down, and they returned suffering with a touch of hypothermia!
A unique feature of this model is that it is fitted with an external boot lid. as true car buffs will immediately notice!
It is truly a beautiful and iconic little vehicle.
